Will scarlet robin hood prince of thieves
Scarlet (Scarlet, #1) by A.C. Gaughen
Will Scarlet is good at two things: stealing from the rich and keeping secrets - skills that are in high demand in Robin Hoods band of thieves, who protect the people of Nottingham from the evil sheriff. Scarlets biggest secret of all is one only Robin and his men know...that she is posing as a thief; that the slip of a boy who is fast with sharp knives is really a girl. The terrible events in her past that led Scarlet to hide her real identity are in danger of being exposed when the thief taker Lord Gisbourne arrives in town to rid Nottingham of the Hood and his men once and for all. As Gisbourne closes in and puts innocent lives at risk, Scarlet must decide how much the people of Nottingham mean to her, especially John Little, a flirtatious fellow outlaw, and Robin, whose quick smiles have the rare power to unsettle her. There is real honor among these thieves and so much more - making this a fight worth dying for.

Will Scarlet

Arguing with Robin Hood. Will was the son of Lord Loxley and an unidentified common woman who Loxley had falled in love with after the death of his wife. As such he was the younger half brother of Robin Hood. Lord Loxley eventually broke off the relationship with Will's mother over Robin's disapproving of the relationship. As a result Will grew up feeling that his father loved Robin more than him, and grew up despising Robin. Robin fell in with area men who had been forced to become outlaws by the sheriff.
Over the years, I've been taken to task for not having more on my site about Kevin Costner's Robin Hood. Well, for all those who wanted me to do a Spotlight on that film, here you go. Just be careful what you wish for. It was the summer of , and my favourite outlaw hero was scheduled to be the star of one of that summer's biggest blockbusters. For years I have loved and studied the legend. While I had not seen Dances with Wolves , the film had great critical buzz and Kevin Costner was at the height of his popularity.
Who said it had to be accurate? The title sequence shows views of the Bayeux Tapestry, currently on display in Normandy although Reading Museum has a duplicate. Costner was a firm winner in the Worst Actor category, beating off the likes of Sylvester Stallone and a notorious one-hit wonder. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio stepped in. Her English accent is great. On his first couple of days of filming, Costner was asked by Kevin Reynolds to demonstrate his archery skills — he replied by firing an arrow straight through a rabbit that was hanging thirty yards away.

It is entirely illustrated with pictures of the late, great Alan Rickman. It was written and originally published before his death earlier this year. It tends to be a forgotten fact that, in the late s, there were actually three competing Robin Hood projects fighting for a greenlight. A trio of separate scripts were being developed by Tristar Pictures, 20th Century Fox and Morgan Creek Productions, and the only one that would go forward to become a movie would, ultimately, be the Robin Hood screenplay that Kevin Costner chose he wanted to make. Of the three, the Tristar project was apparently barely in the running.
