They are right in a way. Those things are true. If we read no farther than this, you might still accept the interpretation of the verse as a denial of the gifts of the spirit. But if we read on and finish verse six, we begin to get an inkling of what this passage refers to. The verse ends. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
