The Secret Quotes by Rhonda Byrne
Thoughts Are Things : What You Think About, You Bring About
1. Change your thoughts by creating positive affirmations
The nature of our thoughts determines the quality of our life whether it is sad, happy and contented. Happy, optimistic, positive thoughts, emotions, and feelings generate a zing in our system which makes the blood flow freely and heart beat joyously. They create a spring in our feet and spur us to action. Let us remember the age-old saying that the mind- thoughts- can move the mountains. Pessimistic, sad and gloomy thoughts, on the other hand, create inertia and force us to stay bed-bound. It is quite clear, therefore, that we must bring about a change in the way we think in order to create happiness and sense of fulfillment in our life. A good thing about our brain is that it willingly adopts any changes that we bring about in our thinking patterns.
Your mind is very powerful. Yet, if you're like most people, you probably spend very little time reflecting on the way you think. After all, who thinks about thinking? But, the way you think about yourself turns into your reality. What you think directly influences how you feel and how you behave. I see this happen all the time in my therapy office. That lack of effort prevents her from getting a promotion.
Life is short. Human beings are happy when they are growing, learning, creating, dancing, singing—and the list goes on. Over the years there have been many, many things I wanted to do—go places, learn things, meet people, try new things—and I never really got to the action part where you actually do something or go somewhere. The reasons excuses are many as to why I remained passive, and they are no longer valid, but at the time they were complete roadblocks to what could be. I was going to do all these things I wanted to do just as soon as all the conditions were perfect.
What you think about, you bring about. The good news is that we are the creators of our lives because we have a choice! We can begin to feel.

You Are What You Think
Your mind is a very powerful thing, and most of us take it for granted. We believe we aren't in control of what we think because our thoughts seem to fly in and out all day long. But you are in control of your thoughts, and you become what you think about. And that little kernel of truth is the secret power of the mind. It's really not a secret after all. The power is available to every single person, including you.
